Advising a Friend about visiting Canada

Dear Soaad,

How are you doing? I heard that you are coming to Canada soon so I wanted to give you some advice before you get here. First of all, you should bring a lot of warm winter clothes because it can get very cold in some parts of Canada. If you come here soon enough, you will still have time to go snowboarding or skiing before spring starts. If you are planning to come during spring, you should bring a lot of summer clothes because the weather here can get as hot as 30 degrees. There are a lot of nice and delicious foods that you can eat. My favorite Canadian breakfast is pancakes with maple syrup. Other good things to try are bagels, which are donut shaped breads. If you really want to try something new, you should try Canadian poutine.  If you are going to be here in July, don’t forget to visit the Calgary Stampede. It is a nice outdoor show that has a lot of different kinds of races and has a lot of good food. Another place I would advise you to visit is Banff, which is Canada’s oldest national park.  To summarize,  Canada is filled with so many things that you can see and try. If I’m still here, I’ll show you around when you get here. Take care and get here soon!

Your friend,

Fathia

  1. Pancakes with maple syrup are great! I'm not crazy about poutine though; I find it too heavy. Going to the Stampede is a nice idea as well.

    Corrections:
No big mistakes...just use a comma before 'so' in the second sentence. :)
